Buy-n-shoot.com has today announced that they are a proud sponsor of the Shutterbug Photography award. As part of their sponsorship Buy-n-Shoot.com will run a feature article on the 10 Shutterbug Award finalists with a short bio on each finalist.

For the 3 finalist Buy-n-Shoot.com will run a feature article on each winner with a bio, interview and feature their winning series of works.

What is Shutterbug…?

The vision behind The Shutterbug Award is to give all photographers an opportunity to show some of their best work via this competition platform.

While predominantly focused on showcasing Australian Photographers, the Shutterbug Award has for the first time opened an International category. Any non-resident of Australia is eligible to enter the International Category.  There is a separate Prize package, which includes having your images published in The Shutterbug Award book this year.

The Shutterbug Award is one of the most prestigious awards in Australia for up and coming photographers.

Now in its fifth year, The Shutterbug Award is open for submissions from any non-professional photographer or emerging photographer who earns less than $20,000 annually from working as a photographer.

As well as a prize pool of over $10 000, 15 Finalists will have their winning images published in the annual Shutterbug Award book as well as exhibited on the Big Screen to a packed audience at The Shutterbug Award night, 7th June 2011.

The Shutterbug Award’s requirement for submission is designed to encourage excellence across a series of images rather than a single photograph and
Photographers submitting to the competition have the chance for their work to be seen by some of the most distinguished and recognized photographers in their fields.

It gives all photographers, at any level, the opportunity to gain career building exposure within the industry.

The Shutterbug Award night is a huge Projection event held in Sydney each year.

On the Shutterbug Award night, Ten Finalists and Five Semi-Finalists have their work exhibited on the Big Screen via a multi-media projection.

Previous finalist’s work has featured varied disciplines; from commercial, fashion, travel and sports to photojournalism and even abstract.

Special Guest Photographers also show some of their recent work.

Previous Special Guests have included multi-award winning photographers Tamara Dean, Dean Sewell, Glenn Lockitch, Kate O'Brien, Dean Tirkot and Dan Paris.

Following the Shutterbug Award Night projection, Special Guests from the Photographic and Media Industry present prizes to the Top Three Finalists, with the overall Winner taking out The Shutterbug Award.
