Epson has released its most creative A3+ printer yet for advanced amateur, semi-professional and professional photographers, the Epson Stylus® Photo R3000.

With nine high capacity cartridges of Epson UltraChrome K3® with Vivid Magenta pigment ink, networking and wireless connectivity, and advanced front-in front-out fine art media handling, the  R3000 produces gallery-quality black-and-white prints, plus vivid colour prints with breathtaking blues and violets.

Combining Epson’s innovative MicroPiezo® printhead, Advanced Black-and-White Photo Mode, Auto Switching of Photo and Matte Black inks, ink droplets as small as 2 picolitres to dramatically reduce grain and produce incredibly smooth tonal changes, and a 2.5 inch colour LCD control panel, the R3000 is a sophisticated, easy to use printer designed to inspire creativity.

Auto Switching of Photo and Matte Black inks

Intelligent linking technology enables the printer to automatically switch between Photo and Matte Black inks for best results based on the media type you choose. Photo Black Ink produces rich, deep blacks on Epson’s traditional photographic papers, while Matte Black Ink produces exceptional results on Epson’s matte media.

Epson’s intelligent look up table

Optimal placement and correct droplet size of each ink colour is crucial to image quality. The R3000 utilises Epson’s proprietary and highly sophisticated LUT (look up table), which precisely converts RGB or CMYK colour information to create the appropriate blend of inks depending on the image being printed. This takes full advantage of the printer’s wide colour gamut and ultra-small ink droplets for wonderfully smooth colour gradations, superior colour consistency and negligible grain.

Flexible connectivity

With the latest in wired and wireless networking, the R3000 makes it easy to print from anywhere in your home or studio.

Advanced connectivity features enable you to choose the setup that best suits your needs. Use the built-in 100 Mbit Ethernet for wired networking, or take advantage of the latest 802.11n Wi-Fi® technology for wireless connectivity. The R3000 also includes Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and PictBridge for direct printing from cameras and viewers for added flexibility.

Advanced Media Handling

The R3000 supports a full range of professional media:

A high-capacity, auto sheet feeder to load cut-sheet photographic and matte papers and print BorderFree® in popular photo sizes from 4 x 6 to 13 x 19.
With its flexible front-in, front-out media path, the R3000 delivers consistent and reliable performance for printing on fine art paper, 1.3 mm thick art boards, or ink jet printable CDs and DVDs.
The built-in roll paper path allows printing panoramas up to 44 inches long on matte, satin, glossy, canvas and photographic papers.

Advanced MicroPiezo printhead and ink-repelling coating

Epson’s nine-colour eight-channel MicroPiezo printhead is at the core of the advanced ink jet technology, enabling the R3000 to deliver incredible detail in every print. This permanent high-performance printhead creates variable-sized droplets as small as 2 picolitres and places them with remarkable accuracy and precision, and the ink-repelling coating allows more accurate dot placement and reduced maintenance.

Advanced Black-and-White Photo Mode

Part of an advanced workflow, this exclusive technology is the key to intuitive and consistent control, for stunning neutral or toned black-and-white prints. Choose from one of four preset tones — neutral, warm, cool or sepia - or precisely fine tune the image further with custom slider bars and the colour tone wheel. Customised settings can be saved and recalled to achieve consistent prints every time.
