| Leaf Distributed By L&P In Australia |
With its vast experience in digital medium format camera systems as the Australian distributor of Phase One and Mamiya products, L&P Digital Photographic is pleased to announce it will now be handling the Leaf range of Aptus II series capture backs.Following the decision of Kodak to sell the Leaf operation, Phase One has acquired the business which is now called Leaf Imaging. The successful range of Aptus II series capture backs continue in production and Phase One – the most successful and progressive company in digital medium format systems – had undertaken to continue development of the Leaf systems and have recently announced several new models and an improved version of Leaf Capture 11. Furthermore, the latest Aptus II series backs will be supported by Phase One’s immensely popular and powerful Capture One 5.0 image processing and editing software. However, following the closure of Franke & Heidecke in Germany, the Leaf AFi II camera platform is no longer available. Nevertheless, with a choice of both Mamiya and Phase One camera platforms available from L&P, Leaf users can still choose from a wide variety of solutions to suit their creative requirements and budgets. L&P is also able to offer a number of alternative professional camera systems, including the recently announced Hartblei CAM which enables digital capture backs to be used with selected 35mm mount systems. L&P Digital Photographic has nearly 30 years experience as a professional supplier and, in addition to Phase One, Mamiya, Leaf and Hartblei, represents a number of the most respected brands in professional imaging including Profoto studio flash, Sekonic exposure meters, Rodenstock lenses and filters, PocketWizard radio triggering systems Induro tripods and Tenba camera bags. L&P managing director, Bruce Pottinger, says the company is delighted to be able to welcome existing Leaf users and assist with their future medium format imaging requirements. “We appreciate that many Leaf users have been very concerned about what the future might hold, but we can assure them that Leaf is very much alive and well under Phase One’s management and we, as the new local distributor, are fully committed to supporting the brand and the photographers who are committed to it. Leaf Imaging will exist as a different entity to Phase One with a different line-up of products, maintaining all the attributes which existing Leaf users have found appealing. However, at L&P we are also able to offer many different options for photographers who want the image quality of digital medium format.” |
