Leica Official Statement On Chairman Changes:

Leica Camera AG with new Chairman of the Board of Management

Dr. Andreas Kaufmann will become member and Chairman of the Board of Management of Leica camera AG effective February 23, 2008. Effective the end of today he has retired from the Supervisory Board.

Following thorough consideration and discussion, the Supervisory Board has resolved to remove Steven K. Lee as Chairman of the Board of Management. The Supervisory Board would like to thank Mr. Lee for his work and wishes him all the best for the future.

Dr. Andreas Kaufmann will continue to pursue the Company’s strategy. »It is the aim of Leica camera AG to open up new markets and target groups in addition to the existing ones«, says Dr. Kaufmann. »Our brand name will continue to stand for high-grade products ›Made in Germany‹ in both the Photo and the Sports optics division.«

Dr. Andreas Kaufmann is also the managing director of ACM Projektentwicklung GmbH, which owns 96.51 per cent of the share capital of, and voting rights in, Leica Camera AG.

In 1989, the first compact point-and-shoot model entered the market. 1998 also saw the launch of the first digital camera - the LEICA DIGILUX. Without exception, all developments are focused on the requirements of the user and are characterized by the highest quality, focus on essential functions, and comfortable user-friendly controls.
