Ricoh GXR Australian Pricing Released

ricoh091203.jpgTasco Sales has released Australian pricing for the Ricoh GXR – the world’s smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera system*.

At the heart of the new system, the GXR camera body will be introduced at a price of $699. Featuring a 12 megapixel APS-C size sensor and an acclaimed GR prime lens, the A12 interchangeable camera unit will be priced at $999, while the S10 interchangeable camera unit featuring a 10 megapixel CCD sensor teamed with a RICOH wide zoom lens will be priced at $649. A number of package deals will also be made available to consumers.

Announcing the development of the GXR on 10 November 2009, Ricoh made worldwide headlines when it unveiled a world-first design that integrates lens, image sensor and image processing engine into a single interchangeable unit.

The GXR camera body, A12 camera unit and GXR accessories will be available in stores from 18 December 2009, with the S10 camera unit becoming available in January 2010. A third camera unit featuring a high magnification zoom telephoto lens will be released in early 2010.

The GXR camera system will be sold exclusively through the Ricoh Pro G Dealer Network. A select few stores will feature a ‘touch and try’ area, providing customers with the opportunity to complete a hands-on review.
