Sony introduces the Cyber-shot TX5 digital camera – tougher than it looks - Everyday durability added to Cyber-shot range, while style and imaging remain paramoun.
Sony Australia today announced the release of the Cyber-shot TX5, adding everyday toughness and durability to its digital still camera range. The water, shock, dust and freeze proof[1] model retains Cyber-shot’s high style and design standards and quality digital imaging attributes.
Features of the 10.2 megapixel Cyber-shot TX5 include a large 3” touch screen to easily take and review photos underwater, Sony’s advanced Exmor R CMOS sensor for stunning low light images and iSweep Panorama mode for sweeping panoramic views. In addition, the camera offers 720p HD video recording and playback.
The TX5 – the world’s thinnest and smallest[2] waterproof digital still camera – has a polished metal finish and is available in four colours (silver, black, pink or red).
Enjoy the outdoors without the worry
The TX5 is as rugged as it is stylish, offering waterproof functionality of up to three meters, giving you peace of mind when enjoying the beach or poolside. Able to withstand drops from a height of 1.5m, the camera is shock proof for added protection. The TX5 is also freeze proof to -10 degrees Celsius and dust proof, providing the perfect combination for the ultimate outdoor camera.
Carl Zeiss Lens with 4x zoom, 25mm wide angle
Zoom in on the action with a 4x optical zoom lens or fit more into your frame with the 25mm equivalent wide angle. The Carl Zeiss lens allows you to capture visually stunning photographs with increased detail for superior outdoor and travel photos.
Low light picture perfection
Sometimes a flash can wash out the scene, making it hard to capture the mood of the moment. For low light environments, the back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor delivers stunning performance is 2x as sensitive to available light producing images with half the amount of noise.
Ultra-wide, 243-degree panoramic shots
With iSweep Panorama Mode, just press the shutter and shoot the scene with a sweeping motion and the camera does the rest. The improved iSweep mode uses face and motion detection to intelligently adjust panorama stitching, so you can shoot the scene you want without worrying about moving subjects ruining your photo.
10 frames per second shooting
Capture decisive moments – like a batsman hitting a ball – with the ability to shoot 10 images in one second at full 10.2 megapixel resolution. This feature is ideal for capturing a unique sequence of images.
Backlighting problems solved
Shooting high-contrast scenes can often lead to washed out backgrounds and details lost in shadow. Backlight Correction HDR helps correct for this by taking two pictures at different settings and processing the best elements of both into a single image.
