Sony Party-shot IPT-DS1 Digital Camera
sony090811.jpgSony has today introduced Party-shot™ (model IPT-DS1) — a ground-breaking new camera accessory that enables selected Cyber-shot cameras to rotate and tilt to find faces and take photos for you.  The innovative Party-shot camera dock rotates 360 degrees and tilts the attached camera 24 degrees, to allow the camera to detect faces.  The Party-shot solution makes it easy to capture candid moments of you, your family and friends without having to hire a photographer.

"With Party-shot you no longer have to remember to take photos, or get someone else to take photos so that you can be in the picture." said Michelle Seemann, digital imaging peripherals product manager at Sony Canada. "Party-shot allows you to relax with your family and friends while it works to capture natural photos of everyone in the group.  It's ideal for capturing natural shots of the whole family and candid moments with friends."

Once a face is found, the camera and Party-shot communicate with each other to optimize the photo.  Party-shot adjust the photo composition by moving the camera and the camera uses "Intelligent Scene Recognition" technology to optimize the photo settings, then the photo is taken.

Party-shot is compatible with the technologically advanced DSC-WX1 and DSC-TX1 Cyber-shot® digital cameras, available in September.  Both cameras feature "Intelligent Scene Recognition" mode which recognizes 9 different scene types and automatically adjusts the shooting settings to optimize the photo quality.  All of the advanced technology features of these two new cameras combine to ensure that great photos are captured with Party-shot.

When powered with two AA batteries Party-shot captures photos for up to 11 hours. You can also use an AC adaptor (sold separately).  It is mountable on most tripods, so you can set it up in a convenient location at any event.
