| Casio EX-Z1000 Digital Camera Firmware Update |
Casio has announced a second firmware update for the EX-Z1000 digital camera. The updates
are as follows:V1.00-V1.02 • Fixes a problem that occasionally causes a thin black line to appear along the bottom of an image recorded using the BEST SHOT "Old Photo," "Business cards and documents," or "White board, etc." sample scenes. The original update had the follow areas attended to: V1.00-V1.01 • Fixes a problem that very rarely would cause incorrect color reproduction in images recorded in overcast weather, and other outdoor conditions with poor lighting. For Casio EX-Z1000 digital camera owners please follow the following instructions for updating your firware (on-camera software): To check your firmware version On your EX-Z1000 camera, hold down the [MENU] button as you press the [POWER ON/OFF] switch to turn on the camera. Keep [MENU] depressed until the version of your camera's firmware appears on the monitor screen. 1. If "Ver.1.00-1.01" appears, you need to download this update software and install it on your camera. 2. If "Ver.1.02" appears, it means that your camera already is running the latest firmware version, so you do not need to install this update. Requirements for Installing This Update on Your Camera To install this firmware update on your camera, you must copy it into the root directory (the top directory on the drive) of built-in camera memory or on a memory card. Because of this, you need to have the USB cable (that comes bundled with the camera) on hand or a card slot available on your computer. Important: If firmware update installation is interrupted due to low battery power, your camera will no longer be able to operate. Be sure to load a fresh set of new batteries into the camera before starting the firmware update installation procedure. Note that you perform firmware update at your own risk.
