Tasco Sales Distributes For AgfaPhoto

agfaphoto090622.jpgTasco Sales Australia has announced their exclusive distribution in Australia for AgfaPhoto digital still and video cameras.  Agfa is a brand 100 years in the making and synonymous with picture taking at all levels.  Agfa Holding granted the licence to produce digital still and video cameras under the AgfaPhoto brand to the plawa-feinwerktechnik GmbH & Co.KG .  They are a well known player in the photographic industry having been established since 1969.  Plawa has strong links to Asian manufacturing companies for the production and development of digital products as well as a powerful sales and support network.  The AgfaPhoto brand will be very familiar continuing the “Red Dot” tradition of Agfa as well as brand names such as “Sensor” and “Optima” names associated with Agfa since 1969.

“The range of AgfaPhoto digital cameras are stylishly designed, high quality, with innovative technology,” said Tasco National Sales Manager Stewart Pickersgill, “and should delight customers with easy operability and competitive market pricing.”

Tasco will launch a range of 3 series of products at the PMA show in Sydney in June 2009 (Stand 582).  The DC Compact, Optima and Video series will range in retail price from $139 to $399

The AgfaPhoto DC Compact cameras are equipped with and without optical zoom.  They are solidly constructed bodies using high quality components.  Technical specifications range from 6 to 12 megapixel CCD sensors, 8x digital to 3 x optical zoom, 6 to 7.6cm TFT LCD displays and up to date software features such as face tracking and smile detection.  The DC-600uw will also be 10 meter water resistant for around $200 retail.  The DC-833m, DC-1033m and DC-2030m will all be equipped with manual shutter and aperture priority for the photo enthusiast to be able to set the camera up for any photographic need.  They will range in retail price from $149 to $249.

The OPTIMA series of AgfaPhoto cameras with optical zoom enhance the compact series and targets the specialised retail market such as photo shops and electronic

retailers.  Consumers will like the wide range of supplied accessories. The power management with rechargeable Li-Ion batteries guaranties more independence.  Metal body, high performance chip sets are utilised.  The technical specifications range from 8 to 12 megapixel CCD sensors, 3x optical zoom, 6.8 to 7.6cm TFT with touch screen and up to date software features.  They will range in retail price from $249 to $399 for the 10 meter water resistant model.

The DV series ranges from HD to FULL HD video resolution to keep the new generation of TV users in mind.  Large swivel TFT displays and slim bodies for the nowadays demanding consumers.  The technical specifications range from 5.0 megapixel CMOS sensor, fix focus up to 5x optical zoom, 6 to 7.6cm TFT display, AA to Li-Ion rechargeable batteries, up to date soft features and full HD, H.264 compression recording.  Retail prices range from $199 to $399.

The new range of AgfaPhoto digital still and video cameras will be available from July 2009 and will be launched by Tasco Sales Australia at the PMA show in Darling Harbour, Sydney 26th to 28th June.
