Epson Discproducer PP-100AP & PP-50

epson20110903.jpgEpson extends Discproducer range with new configurations and features

Epson has released two new reliable disc publishers that enhance productivity and efficiency for a wide range of businesses from service bureaus, educational institutions and photographers to government and medical organisations, by quickly producing high-quality printed disc copies.

Designed and made with the backing of Epson’s world-renowned micro and macro robotics skills and sophisticated MicroPiezo™ inkjet printing technologies, Epson Discproducer PP-50 and PP-100AP extend the range of Epson disc publishers with new configurations and features including low total cost of ownership.

Epson has long been known worldwide for its advanced robotics and inkjet printing technologies and the high reliability of its products.

The Discproducer range takes Epson’s experience and skills in these technologies and merges them into a compact design with dust-proof body, outstanding print quality and robotic disc feed arm with patented AcuGrip™ technology.

AcuGrip™ ensures that only one disc is placed in the drive or printer even if two are stuck together. This not only increases the life of the product, but also helps protect against the interruption of automated production runs due to mechanical blockage.

Epson’s MicroPiezo inkjet print head, at the heart of every Epson professional inkjet printer, is the secret of the Discproducer’s unrivalled print quality, unlike the printing systems used in other disc publishers.

The MicroPiezo print head ensures accurate placement of uniform, stable ink droplets with virtually no satellites or misting, delivering the highest print quality in its class for crisp text and vibrant graphics at up to 1440 x 1440 dpi resolution.

And the individual high-capacity ink cartridges for each of the six colours make disc printing extremely cost-effective.

A low ink sensor and LED for each cartridge help prevent interruptions to print runs by warning that a cartridge replacement is needed before commencing a long job.

The Discproducer PP-50 is a single drive model with 50 disc capacity that can create copies of CD/DVD content and print customised labels on each disc. It is designed for users with smaller output requirements, with all the features of the currently available Discproducer PP-100 model but with a smaller disc capacity. It can burn and print up to 50 discs at a speed of 15 CDs or 8 DVDs per hour and features two operating modes: a standard mode for production runs up to
50 discs and a low volume mode for runs up to 20 discs.

The new Discproducer PP-100AP (Autoprinter) is a print-only system ideal for businesses that already have high speed duplication systems in place. It can store and print up to 100 discs at a fast print speed of up to 95 discs per hour. It has an extended life of up to five years or up to 300,000 discs with regular maintenance.

The Discproducer range is backed by Epson’s industry leading service and support programs, and distributed by Region4 and DH Technology.

Recommended retail prices including GST are:

Discproducer PP-100 (current model) – dual drive, 100 disc capacity, burn and print: $3299
Discproducer PP-50 – single drive, 50 disc capacity, burn and print: $2899
Discproducer PP-100AP (Autoprinter) – dual drive, 100 disc capacity, print only: $2199
