The new EXILIM Digital Camera EX-P505
is a high-quality photo and movie camera in one. The new movable 2-inch
TFT colour display enables photos from all different kinds of angles.
The swivel display is available to the fastidious photographer when he
is taking photographs as well as filming and allows the comfortable
viewing of photos and movies. 5.0 megapixels, 5x optical zoom as well
as state-of-the-art technology for brilliant pictures and fantastic
films are concealed in the black body of the EX-P505. The powerful EXILIM Engine and SUPER LIFE battery provide staying power in every recording mode.
In the photo mode the high-performance camera is ready for use
quickly*, captivates through a short shutter release time lag of around
0.01 second** and fast Playback function. Beside the automatic mode it
offers the CASIO typical BESTSHOT scenes and aperture, shutter priority
and manual settings for creative photo experiments. With the Super
Macro function every detail, no matter how small, is shown to its
fullest advantage, as it enables photos and movies to be shot from a
distance of around 1 cm. A highly efficient Auto Pop-Up Flash provides
sufficient exposure of the respective scenery. The EX Key permits
simple access to the basic settings and the EX Finder visualises the
current camera settings - that way the ambitious photographer always
retains the overview.
The fast multi-talent records movies in MPEG-4 format, VGA, in stereo
sound. The so-called movie BESTSHOT functions, similar to the
well-known scenarios such as portrait or landscape settings in the
photo mode, are new. The Past Movie function is also selected at the
practical mode regulator and continuously records everything the
director finds in front of his lens. After pressing the shutter release
it also stores the last 5 seconds before the start of the recording.
Every important moment becomes a film highlight. In the Short Movie
function short films of up to 8 seconds in length can be shot. The
start of the recording is freely selectable here and the person filming
is responsible for whether the film is to be shot before, with or after
the shutter release has been pressed. If you'd like to print out a
single picture as a photo, you can do this in the Motion Print
function. It releases a single picture form the film or brings the
selected photo with eight other randomly selected pictures together
into a collage. Both motif-selection possibilities can be comfortably
printed out thanks to diverse connection possibilities: the black
compact camera supports the PictBridge and USB Direct Print Standard.
Furthermore, photos and films can be directly transferred via USB2.0 to
the PC and via AV outlet directly to the television. The camera comes
complete with the required USB cables, AV cable, lithium storage
battery with charger and extensive software on CD-ROM.
The EXILIM Pro EX-P505 is available from retailers from March 2005.
