Olympus FE-300 Digital Camera
Get the ease, flexibility and performance you want from an entry-class camera. The Olympus FE-300 is equipped with an astounding 12.0 Megapixels to let you capture every bit of detail while retaining the ability to crop and resize images later on a computer. Face Detection Technology works intelligently to ensure the accurate depiction of human subjects, while high ISO settings help to prevent blur caused by camera shake.

Want to do more for less? With a giant 12.0 Megapixels, the Olympus FE-300 is the solution. Encased in a slim, metal body, this model doesn’t compromise functionality for simplicity. A bright 3x optical zoom together with a large 6.4cm LCD make framing shots a breeze. Meanwhile, BrightCapture Technology works to improve results in low-light conditions. The integration of the powerful TruePic III image processor puts unprecedented power and image quality at your fingertips.

So that high performance doesn’t translate to difficultly, the FE-300 features the “One button, one function” design principle. Together with a built-in guide function, it ensures the greatest of photographic ease and flexibility. With 17 scene modes including Candle, Fireworks or Portrait, you may never have to manually adjust a setting. And using the integrated Face Detection Technology, the inventive Smile Shot mode even recognises faces in a scene and then automatically releases the shutter when subjects smile. Meanwhile, an eight-step mode dial means you’re never more than a few clicks away from the appropriate camera mode. What’s more, high ISO settings minimise the chance of blur caused by camera shake, and 25 languages on board ensure that menus are easily navigable for virtually everyone.

Equipped with both internal memory and an xD-Picture Card slot, the FE-300 is ready to capture both still shots and movies with sound up to memory capacity. And the Olympus Master software including the Muvee Pack trial version makes it a cinch to transfer, edit and archive images on a personal computer.

About Olympus

In Greek mythology, Mt.Olympus is the home of the twelve supreme gods and goddesses. Olympus was named after this mountain to reflect its strong aspiration to create high quality, world famous products.

"Olympus" has been used as a trademark since the time of Takachiho Seisakusho, the predecessor of Olympus Corporation.

In Japanese mythology, it is said that eight million gods and goddesses live in Takamagahara, the peak of Mt.Takachiho. The name "Olympus" was selected as the trademark because Mt.Olympus, like Mt.Takachiho, was the home of gods and goddesses. This trademark is also imbued with the aspiration of Olympus to illuminate the world with its optical devices, just like Takamagahara brought light to the world.

Takachiho Seisakusho was renamed Takachiho Optical Co., Ltd. in 1942 when optical products became the mainstay of the company. In 1947, the name was changed again to Olympus Optical Co., Ltd. in an attempt to enhance its corporate image.

And in 2003, the company made a fresh start as Olympus Corporation, to show its willingness to establish a dynamic corporate brand by unifying the corporate name and the well-known brand.

In recent years, Olympus Corporation has focused on "Opto-Digital Technology" as its core competence, technological strengths that competitors cannot easily imitate, to maximize corporate value and to become one of the top optical instrument manufactures.
