AIPP VIC Awards 2004
The AIPP Victoria is proud to present the:
AIPP Victoria Professional Photographer of The Year 2004

General Entry Information:

Entry is open to all Victorian Full Financial Members of the AIPP and ACMP

Closing Date for Entries: 5.00pm, Friday 16th July 2004

Deliver Entries to: AIPP 5 Kent Court, Glen Waverley 3150

Date of Judging: Tues 20th July 5.00 to 9.00pm [Commercial and Landscape]

Wed 21st July 9.00am to 5.00pm [Wedding, Portrait, Illustrative]

Categories of Entry:

This year we have five categories of entries but, for a category to be declared valid we must have a minimum of ten photographers enter up to four prints into that category. If less than ten photographers enter a category it will be declared void.

• All categories except weddings can be commissioned or non commissioned work

• Prints entered into the wedding category must be from commissioned weddings only

1. Commercial / Advertising - based on conceptual or aesthetic representation of a product or service and / or the implied benefits or mood to be derived from it.

2. Landscape - Photographs of the natural or human environment.

3. Wedding - Traditional, contemporary or photojournalistic. All images entered into this category must have been taken at an actual wedding. If a combination of images are used to make a print then all images used in that compilation must have come from the same wedding. Images not taken at an actual wedding should be entered into the Illustrative category.

4. Portrait - Traditional, group, boudoir, glamour, contemporary or environmental portraiture

5. Illustrative / Self Commissioned - Includes stock, self promotion and personal expression


Prize Pool - 20 individual prizes with a Total Value of $11,800

1. AIPP Victorian Professional Photographer of the Year 2004
A cheque for $1000 plus $3000 in sponsors product

2. Category Prizes
The following prizes will be presented in each of the five categories
• Category Winner - $1000 of sponsors product Decided by highest aggregate score for 4 prints entered
• Category Runner Up - Each runner up will receive $200 in sponsors product
• Highest Scoring Print in Category - $200 in sponsors product

3. Highest Scoring Print from a Master of Photography, an Associate and a Member - $200 in sponsors product

4. Ian Hawthorn Award $200 in sponsors product plus a signed copy of Ian Hawthorn’s One Mans Eye
The Ian Hawthorn Award is granted to the first year member with the highest aggregate score for 4 prints


Enter Up to Three Categories:

In 2004 you can enter a maximum of twelve prints into the VPPY awards. You can enter up to four prints in any one, two or three categories of your choice. You do not have to enter four prints in one category but , only those who have entered four prints into a category will be eligible to win that category.

The overall winner of the VPPY award will be determined by the aggregate total of his or her four highest scoring prints and it does not matter which category these four prints were entered into
