| Epson Maintains 38% Market Share |
Epson has maintained its dominance of the Australian projector market with the release of new and feature rich models helping to increase its market share by 14% in the seven months to July 2008.At the end of July Epson held at 38% market share (by units) - up from 24% in January, according to industry analysts Gfk Australia, and 33% by value – up from 21% in January. “The projectors we launched this year have continued to set new standards in every market segment and helped maintain the strong growth in sales that we are enjoying,” said Bruce Bealby, Epson’s Business Manager Visual Imaging. “Added to that there is a natural swing towards Epson’s 3LCD projector technology that produces images that are easy on the eyes, delivers brighter colours, lower power consumption and smoother flowing images,” Mr Bealby said. “Demand has been particularly strong for the EMP-400W short throw projector from educational institutions and schools. This is an outstanding and innovative projector for use in classrooms and meeting rooms. “The introduction of HD broadcast TV, the Olympic Games and the football finals have been driving demand for our high definition home theatre projectors, the EMP-TW1000 and EMP-TW2000. “And the EB-17 Series projectors released in June are portable, professional high performance business instruments with Epson’s ‘Quick Wireless Connection’, USB Smart Connect, and stylish PC-free presentations, and are proving very popular with small and large businesses.” Mr Bealby said Epson is continuing to bring to market new and innovative projectors with outstanding natural colour and energy efficiency created from its extensive ongoing research and development work in LCD panel technology and revolutionary microprocessors. |
