Epson Stylus Photo R1900 A3+ Printer

epson080122.jpgEpson has released the new Stylus(TM) Photo R1900 A3+ printer for professional photographers who demand high quality photographs.

Taverner Research (Aust) has shown that more than 86% of Australian professional photographers that have an A3/A3+ printer use Epson*. To add to the A3+ range Epson has released the Epson Stylus Photo R1900 which replaces the popular Stylus Photo R1800.

It features Epson's advanced UltraChrome Hi-Gloss2 ink offering vibrant natural colours and long lasting prints on an array of Epson papers, making it ideal for professional photographers seeking to combine the highest possible gloss with the outstanding durability of resin coated pigment inks.

The UltraChrome Hi-Gloss2 ink is highly durable due to its resin coating making it smudge, water and fade resistant, lasting up to 200 years on Epson Watercolour Radiant White Paper according to Wilhelm Imaging Research^.

UltraChrome Hi-Gloss2 has eight individual ink cartridges including cyan, magenta, yellow, red, orange, matte black, photo black and gloss optimiser. The addition of orange to the ink set widens the colour gamut in the most essential areas; the reds, yellows and oranges, to enable the Stylus Photo R1900 to reproduce optimum skin tones. The magenta and yellow inks have also been enhanced to produce brilliant blue and green tonal colours.

With both matte black and photo black cartridges active photographers have greater flexibility as once the paper type is chosen the Stylus Photo R1900 will automatically switch between the black inks to suit the paper type.

A wide variety of media types are offered on the Stylus Photo R1900 including cut sheet and roll paper, up to A3+ in size, along with Epson's direct-to-surface CD/DVD printing so consumers can personalise their CDs and DVDs for a professional look. Media supported on the Stylus Photo R1900 include a selection of glossy photo papers, matte papers and fine art papers.

Look Up Table (LUT) technology is used to determine the best combination of inks to ensure superior inkjet colour reproduction. Epson's new LUT technology optimises colour gradation, minimises grain and ensures image constancy so that prints look the same under various types of light (reduced metamerism).

Epson's wider advanced Micro Piezo(TM) print head with 180 nozzles per colour achieves one inch coverage with each pass improving print speed. Using Epson's Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT) which produces up to three different sizes of ink droplets from as small as 1.5 picolitres, larger droplets print areas of solid colour while smaller droplets render subtle tonal gradations and fine details, at up to 5760 dpi photo Resolution Performance Management (RPM) for beautiful photos.

The Stylus Photo R1900 has PictBridge allowing users to connect directly to a digital camera and also dual USB 2.0 ports allowing users to be connected to additional computers with ease.

The Epson Stylus Photo R1900 is AUD$1099 RRP including GST and available for purchase at consumer electronics retailers, computer superstores, mass merchandisers, office superstores and selected photo specialty stores.
