Kodak HQ Single Use Camera
Kodak USA: The newest “must have” in any purse, beach bag, or backpack is the new KODAK HQ Maximum Versatility Single Use Camera. With a smaller, simple, modern design and silver-colored body, the new HQ camera gives consumers a stylish way to get a photo, even when an expensive camera isn’t available. The new design, featuring a KODAK EKTANAR Lens and Kodak's 800-speed film, delivers the same high-definition pictures with unbeatable clarity that consumers expect from Kodak HQ cameras.

“The new HQ is an ideal complement to a digital picture-taking experience,” said Laurent Dartoux, General Manager of Film Capture, Eastman Kodak Company. “With its new sleek, smaller design, which is 20 percent smaller than most single use cameras, it provides an alternative that’s as attractive as it is functional. Easy-to-use, stylish and reliable, consumers can pull it out on the slopes, at a formal gathering or at a children’s birthday party and capture great pictures.”

According to a recent survey by Kodak, 90 percent of Americans consumers believe that single use cameras represent a great alternative to expensive cameras to capture quality images and 8-in-10 Americans have purchased a single use camera. Nearly 60 percent of Americans own expensive cameras, but choose single use cameras as an alternative. Reasons cited include:

o More expensive camera not available

o Full memory card or dead battery

o Worry about exposing expensive cameras to the elements, whether those elements are snow, sand, or sticky little fingers.

“We found ourselves at a wedding in Europe this past summer with no camera after the airlines lost our luggage,” said Anthony Tama, of New York, NY. “While we couldn’t easily replace our clothes, we were able to easily find a back-up camera, in the form of a Kodak single use camera. We ended up with great shots from both inside and outside the ceremony.”

About

From Glass Plates to Digital Images

With the slogan "you press the button, we do the rest," George Eastman in 1888 put the first simple camera into the hands of a world of consumers. In so doing, he made what had been a cumbersome and complicated process easy to use and accessible to nearly everyone.

Through the years, Kodak has led the way with an abundance of new products and processes that have made photography simpler, more useful and more enjoyable. Today, our work increasingly involves digital technology, combining the power and convenience of electronics with the quality of traditional photography to produce systems that bring levels of utility and fun to the taking, "making" and utilization of images.

What George Eastman began remains a goal of Eastman Kodak Company today, to provide convenience and quality to our customers so more and more people can experience the special wonders of photography and capture and re-live their more cherished moments.
