Epson presents Matt Hoyle's photographic essay "Yesterday in America"Internationally renowned photographer Matt Hoyle’s outstanding photographic essay ‘Yesterday in America’ will be shown in the PICA Global Gallery and on the Epson stand at Photo Imaging World in Sydney in April, thanks to sponsorship by Epson. ‘Yesterday in America’ is a collection that Matt Hoyle has put together over the last few years to portray a bygone era in the US. Described by Matt as his most personal exhibition to date as it attempts to depict and reflect on the America he knew as a child growing up. For this exhibition all images were reproduced on an Epson Stylus PRO 7800 large format printer with Epson UltraChrome K3 Ink on Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper. "Ironically, the memories aren't even from my personal experiences but are an amalgam of imagery from TV, movies, posters and stories that I have since romanticised were there. The dying America from yesteryear: the big haired waitress; the aging debutante from the south; the classic New York scene straight out of an old black and white; and the small town barber who doesn't even know what a personal stylist is,” Matt Hoyle said in his artist’s statement. Matt is an internationally recognised commercial photographer specialising in advertising and editorial work. Matt’s clients include Saatchis, M&C Saatchi, Arnold Worldwide, Esquire Magazine, Time Magazine, Rolling Stone Magazine, the list goes on. He is known for his unique style and dedication to creating outstanding work and is said to have a competitive advantage having once been on the other side of the camera as an award winning advertising executive. Matt definitely knew that a picture could tell a thousand stories and this passion for the freedom and story telling nature of photography led him to follow his dream of becoming a professional in the art. Recognition from his peers includes: International Photographer of the Year from Portrait; London Photographic Awards Winner and PDN Photo Annual Winner. Prior to its Photo Imaging World display ‘Yesterday in America’ will also be on show at the Blender Gallery, 16 Elizabeth Street, Paddington NSW from Thursday, 6 April, also sponsored by Epson. |
