Epson Has Winners Using Epson Paper
Epson’s leadership in fine art print making was overwhelmingly evident at the recent ADAPT exhibition held in Melbourne, Australia, where Epson was the major sponsor. The three ADAPT award winners, for outstanding digital reproduction, all used Epson printers to create their winning images.

“Epson's commitment to fine art print making and photography is demonstrated not only by its drive to deliver market leading products, but its ongoing support and sponsorship of events such as ADAPT,” Epson’s Business Manager Pro Graphics, Craig Heckenberg. said.

“I am delighted – but not surprised – that the award winning images were all created using Epson printers and Epson’s superior UltraChrome pigment inks. I am also thrilled that the major award was won using Epson Enhanced Matte Paper. With more than 70% of professional photographers using Epson printers the quality, colour depth and brilliance, and print longevity is there for all to see.”

Paul Foley of Spit Junction, NSW won the Epson Award For Digital Imaging Excellence and the DES Award For Digital Print Making Innovation with his image ‘Glade of trees’. The judges said this is a remarkably vibrant image captured on 6 x 17cm transparency film using a Linhof camera, scanned on an Imacon Flextite 646 scanner, digitally enhanced and finally printed by an Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printer on Epson’s enhanced matte paper.

Charles Cowell of Camden, NSW won the Canon Award For Digital Photographic Reproduction for ‘The Charge’, a very moving montage of two images superbly executed, both taken on a Sigma SD10 digital SLR. The winning image was printed by an Epson Stylus Pro 4800 on Moab paper.

The Digital Reproduction Magazine Young Achiever Award and DES Digital Imaging Young Achiever Of The Year Award were won by Tim Quirk of Richmond, Victoria for his photo montage of images were captured on a Nikon F90 with 105mm lens, scanned on an Epson Perfection 4180 scanner and printed by an Epson Stylus Photo 2100 A3 printer.

Epson’s dominance continued throughout the show with Epson printers, inks and paper on almost every independent stand, Craig said.

“Epson is building on its strengths in fine art print making, digital imaging, and proofing with its superb printers, UltraChrome ink sets and broad range of Epson media. I am confident Epson will remain market leader for many years.”
