Epson has released the Stylus Photo R390 printer for photo enthusiasts and Stylus
Photo RX590 “More-in-One” for convenient photo lab quality printing for the small
office or home environment.The Stylus Photo R390 and Stylus Photo RX590 feature Epson’s Claria (tm) Photographic ink which prints vibrant photos with outstanding longevity and with individual Epson Intellidge ink cartridges you only have to replace what you use. With a resolution of up to 5760 Optimised dpi and Epson’s Variable Size Dot Technology (VSDT), the Stylus Photo R390 and Stylus Photo RX590 are capable of printing at speeds of up to 30 pages per minute (ppm). The Stylus Photo RX590 has print, copy and scan capabilities, with the scanner’s resolution at 1200 x 2400 dpi. Copying is also conveniently fast with the Stylus Photo RX590 at 30 copies per minute (cpm) in either colour or mono. With Easy Photo Fix the Stylus Photo RX590 scanner can restore faded photos in stand alone mode. So you can save your old photographs and print them out in as new condition. In addition, both the Stylus Photo R390 and Stylus Photo RX590 can print beautiful BorderFree 4x6-inch photographs in around 13 seconds. Connected to your PC via USB, the Stylus Photo R390 and Stylus Photo RX590 also enable you to print stunning, true Edge-to-Edge BorderFree prints up to A4 in size. Both the Stylus Photo R390 and RX590 use Claria Photographic ink which is the result of decades of research by Epson. It creates Ultra High Definition, long lasting photos that exceed the life of silver halide and lab photo prints. Colour photos fade because light and gases in the air break the bonds in the dye colour molecules on the print. Now with Claria Photographic ink the dye molecules contain more atoms with tighter bonding, and Epson has aggregated these stronger molecules into clusters and equipped them with atomic shields to reduce the likelihood of breakdown due to light or oxidation, thus giving longer print life of up to 200 years when stored in an album. For crisp and clear photo viewing and editing, the Stylus Photo R390 has a 3.5 inch LCD colour preview screen and the Stylus Photo RX590 features a 2.5 inch LCD colour preview screen ensuring quality photo printing is made even simpler. The Stylus Photo R390 and Stylus Photo RX590 feature direct-to-surface CD and DVD printing that gives your favourite CD/DVD-based compilations of music and photographs a real touch of class. To get the best possible results, the printers are bundled with software that guides you step-by-step through the design and printing process. Standard on both models is a multi-format memory card reader for simplified photo printing from popular memory cards such as xD, CompactFlash (CF) Type II, and Memory Stick. Epson Creativity Suite is included with both models, containing many handy applications such as Epson Easy Photo, Epson Web-to-Page Print and Epson Print CD/DVD. The Stylus Photo R390 and Stylus Photo RX590 support USB Direct Print, PictBridge and optional Bluetooth. Users are able to view, edit and print photos without the need to connect to a PC. Both models also feature infrared connectivity. Included in the driver is Epson PhotoEnhance which takes the time and hassle out of digital photo printing by automatically resolving image problems to ensure the finished photo shows the full advantages of the wide colour gamut and superior brilliance of Claria Photographic ink. PhotoEnhance analyses images and corrects common problems encountered by amateur photographers like shadowed faces, backlit images and dull colouring, allowing anyone to create images to admire and share with family and friends.
