Seiko Epson Corporation ("Epson") has been working with ESRI to create a means for
quickly publishing large map prints and maintaining premium print quality. The result
is the new ArcPress Epson Universal driver, which is released as a new feature of
ArcGIS Desktop 9.2. The feature extends ArcPress Printing support to include the
complete line-up of Epson Stylus Pro Large Format Inkjet Printers.Epson Stylus Pro printers have long been supported by ArcGIS software. Now the ArcPress Epson Universal driver brings support to the highest level, by enabling the high-capacity ArcPress printer engine to print on Stylus Pro printers. This means better support for large map prints from ArcGIS 9.2, even at high output resolutions. Epson Stylus Pro printers are known for their ability to provide outstanding print quality without sacrificing productivity or affordability. Demanding users in the GIS community, as well as those in industries such as photography, fine art, and print production, have come to expect the quality and productivity that Stylus Pro printers provide. The ESRI ArcPress Epson Universal driver supports the Epson Stylus Pro 4800, 7800, and 9800 printers, which use Epson UltraChrome K3 ink for excellent durability and colourfastness, along with Epson's original Micro Piezo print heads. The new ArcPress driver also supports the Epson Stylus Pro 4400, 7400, and 9400 printers, which provide a balance of high speed output and high image quality.
